Your data,
Your finance system, your email, your documents and half a dozen tools that do not speak to each other already hold the answer. We connect them, make them answerable, and increasingly make them act.
IN PLAIN TERMS
What Ideation Partners does
Ideation Partners is a data and AI consultancy based in Auckland, New Zealand, working with established businesses that run several systems and hold years of operational history.
We connect the data held across a business's finance system, CRM, email, documents and operational tools into one governed layer, then build the tools that make it answerable and increasingly able to act.
Every engagement begins with a Discovery Workshop that ranks opportunities by return before anything is built.
The practice is backed by Verde Group, which has run enterprise systems for New Zealand businesses for more than twenty-five years.
SOUND FAMILIAR
The data is all there. Getting an answer out of it is the problem.
The answer exists. Finding it takes a phone call, a spreadsheet and someone's memory of what happened in 2019.
Every invoice, every job, every email, every meeting. All stored, none of it usable when you need it.
The detail that matters is on the document. The system only knows the summary.
It works until they are on leave, and it never scales past the person who built it.
The model was never the problem. The data underneath it was.
WHAT WE DO
We build the layer that makes your systems useful together
Your finance system or ERP is a system of record. It stores what happened. What most businesses are missing is the layer above it, the one that reads everything, understands the context, and answers in plain language.ERP, CRM, email, documents, spreadsheets, meeting transcripts, PDFs nobody has opened in years. We bring it into one governed place.
Ask a question the way you would ask a colleague. Get an answer with the working shown, so you know whether to trust it.
Once the answers are trusted, the next step is systems that do the work: flag the exception, draft the order, surface the decision before you have to go looking.
We do not start with the technology. We start with where the return is.
Most AI projects fail because someone picked a tool and went looking for a problem. We work the other way round. Every engagement starts by mapping where the value actually sits in your business, ranking the opportunities by return and urgency, and proving the top one on your own data before anyone commits to building anything.
Sometimes that means telling you a use case is not worth doing. That is a useful outcome too, and it costs a great deal less than finding out eighteen months in.
HOW WE WORK
Three phases, each one earning the next
A Discovery Workshop with the people who do the work. You leave with a data inventory, a ranked list of use cases scored on value and urgency, and a costed next step.
We build the highest-value use case as a working prototype, hosted, loaded with your data, and put it in front of your team to use on real decisions.
Only what earned its place goes to production. Every use case after the first is cheaper, because the foundation is already there.
EXAMPLE USE CASES
What this looks like in a real business
Thousands of supplier invoices a month, a small accounts team, and no way to see what was actually purchased as opposed to how it was coded. We built the foundation that reads every invoice to line-item level and surfaces the exceptions.
Inventory is the largest asset on the balance sheet, reordering runs on printed reports and experience, and stock accumulates in the wrong stores. We built a working prototype their buyers now test against their own decisions.
WHY IDEATION PARTNERS
Built by people who have run these systems for twenty-five years
The global firms are built for enterprise budgets and enterprise timelines. We work with businesses large enough that the data problem is real and expensive, and small enough that a six-figure discovery phase is not a serious proposition.
Anyone can buy the AI. The hard part is connecting and governing your data so the answers are right. That is twenty-five years of our work.
Everything we sell has been run inside our own business before it goes anywhere near yours.
COMMON QUESTIONS
The things people ask first
Half a day with the people who do the work. We map where your data lives, surface ten to twenty candidate use cases, rank them on value and urgency, and cost the first step. You leave with a document you can act on with us or without us.
Most businesses assume theirs is worse than it is, and are wrong about which parts. The workshop produces a data inventory covering what exists, what condition it is in and what is missing. Readiness is a finding, not a prerequisite.
In our experience it is almost never the model. It is that the system could not reach the right data, or nobody had written down how the business actually makes the decision, or it was tested on tidy sample data and met the real thing at go-live.
Fixed fee, scoped from the workshop, agreed before work starts. We do not run open-ended time and materials engagements.
Yours. Your data, governance and running costs stay in your control, and your team can run what we build.
IT work keeps your systems running and makes each of them better. We work across all of them at once, and we start from where the return is rather than from a platform.
No. We are fastest on the systems we have supported for years, but the work applies to any set of systems, and often to the ones with no proper interface at all.
Start with a conversation, not a commitment
No preparation, no slides, no obligation. Tell us what is frustrating you and we will tell you honestly whether there is anything here worth doing, and what the first step would cost if there is. If the answer is that you do not need us yet, we will say that too.
